  • OpenVZ Commands



    OpenVZ is an operating system-level virtualization technology based on the Linux kernal and operating system. OpenVZ allows a physical server to run multiple isolated operating system instances , called containers, virtual private servers(VPSs), or virtual environments(VEs). OpenVZ is similar to FreeBSD jails and Solaris Containers. CTID representing the ID of a container.

    * Command to start a VPS

    #vzctl start CTID

    * Command to list the running VPSs in a node

    #vzlist

    *Command to stop a VPS

    #vzctl stop CTID

    *Command to view the status of a VPS

    #vzctl status CTID

    *Command to enter a VPS

    #vzctl enter CTID

    *Command to list running and stopped VPSs in a node

    #vzlist -a

    *Command to list all the running VPS in the node
